Cutting Tool Coating Solution

Application: Drills, end mills, taps, turning tools, inserts, broaches, hobs and other metal cutting tools

Coating Properties:

• Coating Thickness: Precisely controlled within 2.0 ~ 10 μm
• Surface Hardness: Up to over 3200 HV
• Friction Coefficient: As low as 0.25 ~ 0.3

Coating Process:

1.Pre-treatment:

Ultrasonic degreasing & cleaning, pure water rinsing and drying.

2.Furnace Loading:

Tools are fixed with special fixtures and arranged neatly before being loaded into the coating furnace.

3.Vacuum Pumping:

The sealed chamber is pumped to high vacuum to eliminate air and moisture.

4.Ion Etching Cleaning:

Inject argon plasma to bombard workpiece surfaces, remove oxide layers and activate substrate surfaces.

5.Transition Layer Deposition:

Deposit ultra-thin metallic transition layer to boost bonding force between coating and tool substrate.

6.Functional Layer Deposition:

Introduce reactive gas to form high-hardness and wear-resistant functional coating.

7.Cooling & Unloading:

Complete slow in-furnace cooling, release vacuum and take out workpieces.

8.Inspection & Warehousing:

Conduct sampling inspection on appearance, film thickness and hardness. Only qualified products are delivered and stocked.
